Organisatoren delen informatie over incidenten.

Regulations
To ensure everything runs smoothly and pleasantly for everyone, we have a few house rules. Together, we create a fun and welcoming atmosphere. If you do not adhere to the rules, we may ask you to leave. Essentially, we follow the house rules of plukdeliefde.nl, which are also applied at many other poly events.
A Regular Social Gathering
A PolyBorrel is essentially just a regular social gathering. It takes place in the public space of a cozy café. A PolyBorrel is not a discussion group but rather a very informal event.
A PolyBorrel is not a dating event. Of course, it’s possible that you may meet someone open to a relationship, but this certainly doesn’t apply to everyone. If new connections arise during the evening, that’s wonderful, but don’t make it the goal of the evening. Broaden your interactions with different people. Behaviors perceived as “hunting” are seen as unpleasant. Keep things open and playful. Sex-focused dating does not fall under the concept of polyamory.
Take Privacy Seriously
At the gathering, there may be attendees who are not “out of the closet” or who, for other reasons, do not want to be photographed. Taking photos, videos, or other recordings is therefore not allowed without the explicit consent of all involved.
If you’ve taken photos or videos and wish to share them on social media, you also need permission from all involved before posting.
Keep an Eye on Your Belongings
There is no monitored cloakroom, so you are responsible for keeping track of your own belongings.
Settling Your Bill
In almost all cases, drinks and snacks during our events are at your own expense. Make sure to settle your bill before leaving. Failure to do so may result in the organization charging you later to recover the costs.
Respect Each Other’s Boundaries
As mentioned, a PolyBorrel is primarily just a regular gathering. This includes maintaining social norms, as you would at any other event. Naturally, some attendees may have more open and liberal views about relationships and intimacy than average. However, this is not true for everyone. Even if someone is open-minded, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are open to something with you at that moment.
Always keep in mind that everyone has boundaries that must be respected. Follow these simple rules:
- Before you touch someone, carefully determine whether that person wants that too. This also applies to an arm around a shoulder. ‘He or she did not protest’ is not the same as agreeing.
- Hints about eroticism can also be experienced as unwanted in a conversation. Decide on that too.
- Do not exert pressure to obtain someone’s telephone number or email address or to get a follow-up appointment.
- Do not take someone’s ‘no’ (in words or gestures) personally, but respect it as such. No explanation or justification is necessary. Someone does not have to defend why they are setting a boundary.
If you feel these rules are being violated, notify a member of the organization. We aim to maintain a positive atmosphere.
We take these rules seriously. If you do not comply, we may ask you to leave the PolyBorrel. Depending on the situation, you may also be prohibited from attending future events.
Organizers share information about any incidents. Therefore, it’s possible that you may also be unwelcome at other activities.
The Organization Is Not a Dating Agency
We do not share participant information with third parties, nor do we facilitate contact between participants. Privacy is precious. If you wish to connect with someone, arrange it directly with them during the gatherings.
Journalists and Researchers
Polyamory is a popular subject for the media and social scientists. For almost every event, we receive one or more requests. If you wish to attend as a journalist, program maker, or researcher, please contact the organization in advance. Together, we will determine whether your intentions align with the event’s purpose and assess beforehand whether anyone would like to share their thoughts with you.
You are, of course, expected to introduce yourself as a journalist or researcher to everyone you speak with. Cameras and recording devices are not permitted to protect the privacy of our visitors.
If we feel it is better for you not to attend, we will try to arrange an alternative, such as interviews at another time. Unannounced attendance is not appreciated.
